In the other Group F opening fixture also at San Pedro, the two-time African champion Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and Zambia drew 1-1 with DRC Firing a total of 25 shots on goal. In the twenty-third minute of the game , Kings Kangwa gave Zambia the lead with a crucial pass from Patson Daka. Four minutes later, Yoane Wissa's cross from Cédric Bakambu gave the DRC an equalizer.
