We're Hiring: Utilities Engineer in Port Elizabeth!

Are you an experienced and skilled engineer with a background in factory maintenance? We're looking for a dedicated Utilities Engineer to join our team in Port Elizabeth. This is a permanent, mid-level role where you will be responsible for managing all utility operations to ensure our production plant runs smoothly and efficiently.

What You'll Do

As a Utilities Engineer, you will be the expert on site, overseeing critical operations and driving improvement. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Operational Management: Manage all utility operations, including HVAC, purified water, steam, and compressed air systems, to achieve operational objectives.

  • Maintenance and Optimization: Develop and coordinate preventative and corrective maintenance plans. You'll also lead strategies to improve and optimize utility operations.

  • Compliance and Quality: Ensure the plant's utilities are environmentally sound and compliant with all regulations. This includes managing the requalification program and presenting designs to regulators.

  • Asset Management: Oversee the asset register, manage the implementation of asset policies, and ensure that all new and reconditioned equipment is fit for purpose.

  • Reporting and Documentation: Compile detailed reports on equipment maintenance status, manage electronic databases, and ensure all maintenance documentation is readily available.


Who We're Looking For

  • Education and Experience: A National Diploma or BSc in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering with at least 6 years of related experience. A relevant trade test is preferred.

  • Specific Skills: Advanced knowledge of maintenance and monitoring programs, with a strong background in Good Engineering Practices. You should also have experience in factory maintenance and fault finding, preferably in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.

  • Competencies: You should be a problem-solver who excels at meeting deadlines, is skilled at interrogating information, and can finalize outputs with precision.
