Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for retail and a knack for problem-solving? Woolworths, a leader in the FMCG and retail industry, is looking for a talented IT Solutions Architect to join our team in Cape Town. This is a permanent position where you'll play a crucial role in supporting and governing our IT solutions in line with our business strategy.

What You'll Do

As an IT Solutions Architect, you will be a key driver in shaping our technology landscape. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Strategic Guidance: Provide thought leadership and conduct research to guide our business and IT strategies for transformation projects.

  • Solution Design: Define sustainable and scalable solutions, documenting future-fit designs in collaboration with various teams.

  • Governance & Collaboration: Proactively define and support our IT architecture landscape, ensuring governance is adhered to. You will also build and maintain relationships with suppliers and key stakeholders across the business.

  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and deliver IT opportunities for continuous improvements, and proactively identify business risks and mitigations based on architecture principles.

  • Mentorship & Leadership: Actively participate in, and promote a working group culture across IT and business functions, and mentor others on how to translate business requirements into technical solutions.


Who We're Looking For

  • Educational Requirements: A relevant 3-year tertiary or NQF-aligned qualification, along with relevant architecture certification.

  • Experience: At least 3 years of experience in an architecture capacity, with a focus on retail.

  • Essential Skills & Knowledge:

    • Experience with retail Point of Sale and process modeling.

    • A deep understanding of the retail industry and its operations.

    • Knowledge of modern development methodologies, including Agile, DevOps, and Scrum.

    • Experience with both on-premise and cloud solutions.

    • Exceptional communication, presentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

    • TOGAF certification is an advantage.
