We have a fantastic opportunity for a Communication Operator to join our dedicated Water and Sanitation team at the Centurion Depot. This role is a vital link between the community and our field teams, ensuring that critical issues are addressed quickly and efficiently.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Communication Operator, you will be the first point of contact for our community. Your primary responsibility is to receive complaints—either by phone or radio—and accurately relay that information to our blockage removal teams.
Your key duties will include:
- Information Management: You'll be responsible for registering all complaints and related data on our computerised system, ensuring all details are accurate.
- Communication: You'll use a radio to relay complaints to our teams, following correct protocol and ensuring clear communication.
- Coordination: You'll report non-sewerage complaints to the correct departments and make necessary corrections on job slips.
- Reporting: You'll keep supervisors and management informed of daily activities and assist with the computerisation of job cards.
Who We're Looking For
The ideal candidate is a fast learner with great communication and interpersonal skills. You must be hard-working, a team player, and able to work independently under pressure. Given the nature of the work, you also need to be physically fit and healthy.
Here’s what you need to apply:
- Education: A Grade 12 qualification is required.
- Experience: At least six months of relevant working experience in administration, fleet, and asset control, preferably within a local authority water and sanitation network.
- Skills: You must be computer literate.
- Background Check: You must be willing to undergo a criminal record check.
Compensation and Application Details
This is a T7 Job Level position with an estimated annual salary package ranging from R357,290.00 to R483,405.00.
