Position : Inventory Manager
Our client, a leading manufacturer and distributor of innovative plastic packaging solutions in East Africa, is seeking to hire a dynamic and detail-oriented Inventory Manager to lead and optimize inventory and supply chain operations across multiple production units. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in maintaining optimal inventory levels, ensuring accurate stock recording, and driving efficiency in material movement. This role is central to supporting seamless production flow through smart stock control and supply chain coordination.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Develop and implement inventory control procedures and best practices.
• Monitor inventory levels and ensure stock availability to meet customer demands.
• Conduct regular physical inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies.
• Manage inventory tracking systems and update records as necessary.
• Coordinate with procurement, warehouse, and sales teams to forecast demand and plan inventory.
• Analyse inventory data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
• Supervise and train inventory staff and warehouse personnel.
• Prepare and present inventory reports to management
SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 5 to 7 years of proven managerial experience in inventory management, logistics, or supply chain operations.
• Experience in manufacturing industries, particularly in plastics — including injection molding, blow molding, PET molding, and related processes.
• Strong knowledge of inventory management software (e.g., Syspro, SAP, Oracle).
• Experience with data analysis tools and reporting software.
• Certification in inventory or supply chain management (e.g., CPIM, CSCP).
• Strong knowledge in procurement, controlling ware house, reconciliations of inventories, expert in ERP system and good negotiator.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong organizational and leadership abilities.
• Familiarity with lean inventory practices and just-in-time (JIT) systems.
