The EACOP project involves the construction and operation of a 1,443-kilometer underground and cross-border pipeline to transport crude oil from Kabaale, Uganda, to the Chongoleani peninsula near Tanga in Tanzania, with a substantial 1,147 kilometers of the pipeline running through Tanzanian territory.

In its role for the EACOP project, CPP is responsible for various critical aspects of pipeline construction, including the main pipeline itself, feeder lines, and above-ground installations such as pumping stations and pressure reducing stations. This involves extensive civil works, earthworks, and the installation of complex mechanical and electrical systems. CPP also actively engages with local content initiatives, inviting expressions of interest from Tanzanian companies for various services, including the supply of materials, logistics, and other support services, aiming to foster local participation and economic benefits from the project.

1.  New Opportunity at CPP: Geotechnical Engineer 🔔
📍 Location: Tanzania
🛠️ Project: East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP)
CPP is seeking a skilled and dedicated Geotechnical Engineer to provide essential technical support for the construction of one of Africa’s most ambitious energy infrastructure projects. This role is critical to ensuring pipeline stability and safety across varied and complex terrain along the 1,500 km EACOP pipeline route.

🚧 Key Responsibilities
✅ Provide geotechnical technical support and risk assessments throughout all phases of pipeline construction.
✅ Conduct or review field investigations, soil/rock testing, slope stability analysis, and geohazard assessments.
✅ Deliver technical guidance for construction strategies in complex areas such as landslide-prone slopes and fault belts.
✅ Assist in the development of geotechnical documentation, including reports, drawings, and mitigation plans.
✅ Coordinate with engineering, construction, and HSE teams to ensure proper geotechnical integration into project planning.
✅ Use geotechnical software (e.g., PLAXIS, GeoStudio) and mapping tools (e.g., ArcGIS) for modeling and data analysis.
✅ Support geotechnical planning and monitoring over the full 1,500 km pipeline span, ensuring consistency across LOTs.
✅ Ensure compliance with international geotechnical, construction, and HSE standards.
✅ Assist with audits, inspections, and reporting activities as required by the project and Owner's team.

👀 What We're Looking For
🎓 Qualifications
🔸 Bachelor's degree or above in Geological Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related discipline

💼 Experience
🔸 Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in large-scale infrastructure or oil & gas pipeline projects
🔸 Experience working in remote or geologically complex environments is highly desirable

💡 Technical Skills
🔸 Strong knowledge of geotechnical investigations, rock/soil mechanics, slope stability, and geohazard mitigation
🔸 Proficiency in software such as AutoCAD, ArcGIS, PLAXIS, GeoStudio, and related tools
🔸 Familiarity with international HSE and risk assessment standards is an advantage

🗣️ Communication
🔸 Excellent verbal and written English skills for clear reporting and effective communication
🔸 Capable of working within cross-functional and multicultural teams

🌍 Other Requirements
🔸 Willingness to work on-site under field conditions and travel frequently across the whole pipeline.

We are looking for a qualified Lifting Engineer to join our project execution team for one of the largest pipeline infrastructure developments in East Africa.


🚧 Key Responsibilities
✅ Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of lifting operations at assigned site(s).
✅ Prepare and review all categories of lifting plans, including critical lifts, supported by AutoCAD scale drawings.
✅ Ensure lifting activities comply with CPP and project-specific lifting standards and safety procedures.
✅ Supervise and organize on-site lifting personnel and equipment in coordination with CPP Lifting Specialist and Supervisors.
✅ Monitor and maintain integrity and inspection schedules for all lifting equipment.
✅ Proactively plan upcoming lifting operations in alignment with project timelines.
✅ Verify all safety protocols are followed, including area barricading, signage, and ground conditions.
✅ Ensure cranes, mobile equipment, and heavy-duty vehicles are in good condition and well-maintained.
✅ Support and participate in internal and external lifting audits.
✅ Act as the site focal point for lifting-related communication and issue resolution.

👀 What We're Looking For
🎓 Qualifications:
·Valid internationally approved certification for lifting supervisor or planner (e.g., AP certification preferred).
💼 Experience
🔸 Minimum 8 years of experience in lifting operations, preferably in oil & gas, pipeline, or energy infrastructure projects
🔸 Demonstrated experience in critical lifting planning and execution
💡 Technical Skills.
🔸 Proficient in AutoCAD for creating detailed lifting drawings.
🔸 Strong understanding of crane operations, rigging, mobile equipment, and lifting safety standards.
🔸 Familiar with international lifting codes and procedures.
🗣️ Communication
🔸 Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
🔸 Strong coordination skills for working with cross-cultural and multidisciplinary teams.
🌍 Other Requirements:
🔸 Self-motivated, solutions-oriented, and capable of working under pressure.
🔸 Willing and able to rotate between Uganda and Tanzania as needed.
