producer with a single operation in Geita Region. The company is a
subsidiary of AngloGold Ashanti, an international gold producer
headquartered in Denver, USA. AGA has operations in more than ten
countries across four continents. The mine is situated in the Lake
Victoria Gold fields of Northwestern Tanzania, only about 120 km’s from
Mwanza City and 20 km’s Southeast of the nearest point of Lake Victoria.
The company has its main office and operations in Geita, only 5 Km’s
west of the fast-growing town of Geita, and a supporting office in Dar

Tradesperson 1 - Mechanic
Position: Tradesperson 1 – UG Mechanic

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
Successful delivery of the planned maintenance regime, fulfilling its statutory obligations, whilst also providing a breakdown reactive response harmonizing both customer and organizational requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- VETA Trade Test Certificate Grade One or Level Three in Motor Vehicle Mechanics/ FTC in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering.
- Must possess valid Tanzanian Driving license.
EXPERIENCE:
- At least 3 years working experience in the Underground equipment’s maintenance as a Mechanic on Caterpillar truck & Loader, Sandvik truck, Loaders, Normet, and drill rigs.
MAIN OR KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Performing preventive maintenance as per schedule.
- Ensure work is conducted in a safe working practices and procedures.
- Conduct inspection on equipment’s to identify damages or defect and document on the inspection register and submit to your supervisor for more actions.
- Execute all mining equipment maintenance tasks assigned following approved work procedures.
- Repair equipment and report completion of tasks to Senior Supervisor.
- Always maintain good housekeeping.
- Report to Supervisor any unsafe equipment immediately.
- Ensure work is performed to the OEM’S up standard and ensure quality of work to increase up time after the equipment is released to production.
- Be able to plan work before execution.
- Carry out work as required or directed.
- Meet work delivery deadlines to minimize the demand for resources without exceeding the required by Date for work completion.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Understands safety mechanical & electrical device installed to the machine for keeping equipment health.
- Able to work with minimum supervision.
- Demonstrate a good commitment to deliver.
- Positive attitude towards safety and environment compliance.
- Should be a good team player.
- Must be physical and mentally fit.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
To effectively manage the electrical maintenance activities at underground operations which includes underground electrical works / water facilities / outside water sources / camp facilities and infrastructure / overhead power lines/power generation / medium voltage tasks / ventilation.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Form Four Certificate with VETA Trade Test Certificate Grade one/ Level Three in industrial Electrical.
- Diploma or Degree in Electrical will be an added advantage.
- Must possess Valid Tanzanian Driving License.
EXPERIENCE:
- At least 3 years of experience as High Voltage Electrician, doing troubleshooting and repairs of Underground high Voltage, cable runs, Fan installations, servicing of Drill rig Jumbo and servicing ug pumps.
- Jumbo Sandvik experience is an added advantage.
MAIN OR KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Performing electrical fault diagnostics on Equipment and other machines to identify faults.
- Repairing electrical faults in jumbos, Solos, cubex starters, flight pumps ,stalker pumps and replacing damaged/faulty parts where necessary.
- Performing checks and tests to verify the success of repair work.
- Assembling and installing electrical and electronic systems in the equipment’s.
- Preparing time and cost estimates for business unit.
- Performing routine revision and maintenance on the machines.
- Performing checks and tests to verify the success of repair work.
- Works well with all stakeholders, co-operating and coordinating works to ensure that all equipment is optimized and running efficiently.
- Responds promptly to all breakdowns, ensuring that equipment is returned effectively to production, whilst causing minimum disruption to its continuity and without compromising product quality or safety.
- Carries out planned maintenance activities in line with maintenance schedules and helps to develop and maintain schedules in line with requirements.
- Ensures that all equipment processes are fully compliant with organizational and legislative health and safety requirements.
- The post holder will be competent to carry out High voltage task based on project works.
- Previous experience in UG equipment Operational maintenance background desirable.

Operator 1 - Crane at GGM
Position: Operator 1 – Crane

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
The role holder is responsible for the correct operation of the crane in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions and within the safe system of work.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Qualification in Crane Operations.
- Must possess valid Tanzanian Driving License Class E, G & F.
- Apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent NACTE Accredited.
EXPERIENCE:
- 3 years as a Crane Operator in a typical Mining or Construction environment.
- Have a good understanding of rules, regulations and as regards to Lifting Machinery and Rigging .
MAIN OR KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Carry out Quarterly colour coding of portable lifting equipment and update registers.
- Confirm lifting radius and weights. Ensuring correctly sized equipment is used.
- Completion of work requests.
- Undergo Training programs to acquire and maintain certification for operating various lifting machinery.
- Conduct Crane Lifting Operations in a safe and timely manner
- Adhere to safe working practices and capture of safe working documents, lift plans, take 5, JSA’s, Lift studies, Lifting Permits, plant permits and Electrical Isolation permits and method statements.
- Actively participate in Safety meetings and during Toolbox Talks.
- To carry out day operations of related tasks t Crane Operators throughout the GGML Mine Complex.
- To conduct day to day operations of related tasks to Rigging Operators throughout the GGM Mine Complex.
- Examination of portable lifting equipment before and after use.
- Quarantine defective lifting accessories.
- Understand load weight estimation, centre of gravity, effects of angles on lifting equipment.
- Adherence to lift plans, JSA’s, take 5 and method statements.
- Participate actively to company strategy regarding safety. Participate in Daily, weekly, monthly & managerial briefs.
