Tanzania Women Beat Namibia Women 2 - 1 to Claim Third Place in Cosafa Women's Championship. Tanzania, who won the Hollywoodbets Cosafa Women's Championship last year, had to settle for the bronze medal this time around after defeating Namibia 2-1 in the third-place play-off. In a football Match played on Sunday Afternoon September 11, 2022 at the Wolfson Stadium in KwaZakele, Ibhayi just outside Port Elizabeth in South Africa.

With a long free kick that was expertly hit and swerved late to beat Namibia goalkeeper Melissa Matheus, Christer Bahera gave the East Africans the lead.

Aisha Mnunka of Tanzania, a defender, headed the ball into her own net on the 20th minute, leveling the score for Namibia with a goal that would have made any striker proud.

The unfortunate Namibian captain Emma Naris scored the second own goal of the match with just two minutes left by deflecting a shot into her own net, saving the game from going to penalties.

At full time the scoreboard at the Wolfson Stadium read Tanzania 2  - 1 Namibia.
