Location:Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
We
are seeking two to three years experienced and reliable Customs
Clearance Officer to join our Import & Export Department. If you are
proactive, detail-oriented, and have a strong background in customs
operations, this is your opportunity to make an impact.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct inspections of containers or bulk carriers to ensure timely customs clearance and release.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date container data for effective internal control.
• Manage all customs documentation required for clearing cargo efficiently and in compliance with regulations.
• Coordinate reasonable and timely haulage of containers with carriers.
• Ensure timely return of containers to avoid abnormal costs and penalties.
Qualifications & Requirements:
• Diploma or Degree in Clearing and Forwarding, Customs and Tax Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a similar role.
• Proven experience in ICD (Inland Container Depot) inspections.
• Proficient in computer applications, especially MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Honest, down-to-earth, and committed to quality work.
