Job Title: Account Specialist
Department: Finance and Accounts
Location: KEDA Ceramic, Mkuranga, Tanzania
Reports to: Finance Manager
Job Purpose:
To manage and maintain accurate financial records, ensure compliance with financial
regulations,
and support the finance team in all accounting operations, including
accounts payable, receivable, and reconciliation
Job Responsibilities:
Invoice Review – Check invoices to verify their accuracy and confirm whether they can be recognized by the tax system.
Expense Audit – Evaluate the reasonableness of different expense types.
Invoice Verification – Perform verification of invoices for compliance.
Bank Transactions – Handle routine daily banking tasks.
Maintain supporting documents for all journal entries and ledger movements.
Perform monthly reconciliations of key accounts (e.g., bank, receivables, payables, intercompany, fixed assets).
Prepare trial balances and financial statements for internal reporting.
Support external and internal audits by providing required ledger documents and clarifications.
Ensure compliance with IFRS and Tanzanian financial regulations.
Maintain tax schedules and support preparation of VAT, withholding tax, and other statutory reports.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2–3 years of experience in financial/accounting roles.
Familiar with local financial and tax laws and regulations.
Proficient in English (listening, speaking, reading, and writing).
Skilled in the use of office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
