Chobo Investments Company Limited is a fully integrated agri-business company in the meat processing industry. Based in Tanzania, the company engages principally in the production, processing, distribution, and retailing of raw meat (carcass), primal cuts, and processed meat products. The company is situated in Mwanza-Misungwi District, Usagara-Mayolwa Village, and owns a ranch, Mwisa II, located in Muleba-Kagera, Kisana Village.
1. Ranch Manager: 1 Position
- Job title: Ranch Manager
- Reports to: General Manager
- Purpose: The role requires a deep understanding of animal husbandry, land management, and employee management.
- Specific responsibilities and duties:
- Manage all farm assets, operations, and personnel, and train other workers on the farm.
- Supervise the production and care of livestock and other farm animals.
- Oversee the ranging process, including raising and birthing of all livestock.
- Ensure livestock is raised to market standards and complies with government regulations.
- Advise and purchase proper livestock for beef and other usage and implement quality standards.
- Propose and implement proper equipment and supplies and organize maintenance of animal shelters and pastures.
- Perform any other job as directed by management for the betterment of the ranch and employer business.
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture or equivalent work experience.
- Qualifications and skills:
- Strong leadership and qualification skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Experience with budgeting and financial management.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
- Experience:
- 5+ years of ranch management experience.

2. Quality Assurance Officer: 1 Position
- Job title: Quality Assurance Officer
- Reports to: Production Manager
- Purpose: Ensure that data results from the laboratory are accurate and quality assurance procedures are followed.
- Specific responsibilities and duties:
- Quality management systems:
- Develop, implement, and maintain the laboratory’s quality management system in alignment with ISO 15189 or other relevant standards.
- Policy and procedure development:
- Collaborate with lab technicians to establish, review, and revise laboratory policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Ensure all laboratory practices adhere to established quality standards.
- Documentation and record keeping:
- Oversee the documentation and record-keeping process to ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements.
- Conduct regular audits of laboratory documentation and records.
- Internal audits and inspections:
- Plan and conduct internal audits to assess the effectiveness of quality assurance processes and identify areas for improvement.
- Develop corrective and preventive action (CAPA) plans in response to audit findings.
- Compliance and accreditation:
- Monitor and maintain compliance with relevant regulatory agencies and accreditation bodies.
- Prepare and coordinate laboratory accreditation and certification processes.
- Training and education:
- Develop and deliver quality assurance training programs for laboratory staff, production staff, and other employees to enhance awareness and compliance with quality standards.
- Risk assessment and management:
- Conduct risk assessments and assist in developing risk management strategies to mitigate potential issues affecting laboratory operations and production.
- Address and document deviations and non-conformities as they arise.
- Continuous improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and lead quality improvement initiatives.
- Analyze data to monitor trends and recommend corrective actions.
- Supplier and vendor quality assessment:
- Evaluate and maintain a list of approved suppliers and vendors, ensuring their adherence to quality standards.
- Collaborate with procurement to manage supplier relationships.
- Communication and reporting:
- Provide regular reports and updates to laboratory management on quality assurance activities, issues, and achievements.
- Serve as a point of contact for external auditors and inspectors.
- Other duties:
- Review and authorize lab results.
- Be accountable for lab services costs by raising invoices.
- Perform any other job as assigned by a superior that seems relevant.
- Quality management systems:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Laboratory, or relevant equivalent education and experience.
- Qualifications and skills:
- Knowledge of ISO 9000 quality management systems and ISO 15189 laboratory quality management systems.
- Ability to coordinate daily tasks around unplanned activities that become a priority.
- Well-developed interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- Demonstrate customer service and capacity to build relationships in the workplace.
- Auditing skills.
- Experience:
- At least 5 years’ experience working as a Quality Assurance Officer.

3. Sales and Marketing Officer: 1 Position
- Job title: Sales and Marketing Officer
- Reports to: Sales and Marketing Manager
- Purpose: Running daily chores of the sales office.
- Specific responsibilities and duties:
- Address immediate customer complaints.
- Prepare sales invoices and cash sale receipts.
- Ensure sales invoices are based on customer local purchase orders and entered into the system during the same period.
- Where an order is not supplied in full, a note should be made to the Sales and Marketing Manager.
- Prepare periodical sales summaries, including daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
- From credit customer orders, prepare weekly and monthly sales forecasts for the Production Manager for planning purposes.
- Ensure a list of staff who buy meat on credit is forwarded to the accounts department for action.
- Ensure copies of invoices/cash sales for the previous day are summarized and forwarded to the accounts office for reconciliation purposes.
- Where an order is not supplied in full, a note may be raised to cover the supply.
- In case(s) of return of product(s) by a customer for any reason, a Goods Return Note must be raised and a copy forwarded to the Accounts Office for action.
- Perform any other duty as assigned by the Sales and Marketing Manager and management.
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or a relevant field.
- Qualifications and skills:
- Proven sales/marketing skills and experience.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Possess an in-depth knowledge and understanding of sales and marketing.
- Digital marketing skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- A valid driver’s license.
- One year of driving experience.
- Experience:
- 3 years’ experience in sales and marketing.
